Our story

We'd rather earn your trust
than your business.

Ran Shriki founded Oren Painting in 1992 with exceptional skill, a commitment to doing things right, and a belief that relationships matter more than transactions. Over three decades later, he's still the one reviewing every proposal, overseeing every crew, and making sure every project meets his personal standard.

Today, Ran's sons, Shachar and Oren, work alongside him — managing estimates, reviewing project plans with clients, and helping lead the business into its next chapter. For the Shriki family, this isn't just a company. It's a name they've spent 30 years building, and one they take personally on every job.

What started as a residential painting operation has grown into one of Portland's most respected painting contractors — serving homeowners, property managers, and commercial developers throughout Oregon and Washington. That growth has always been driven by word-of-mouth: satisfied clients who tell their neighbors, their family, their property managers.

Our work has been selected to paint homes featured in Portland's Street of Dreams — the Pacific Northwest's most prestigious residential design showcase. It's recognition we're proud of, though Ran will tell you he's just as proud of the homeowner in Tigard who's been calling us back for 20 years.

“Having my sons working beside me — that’s everything. This company carries our family name, and now it carries our family forward.”

— Ran Shriki, Founder

Street of Dreams — Portland, Oregon

The Street of Dreams is an annual tour featuring the finest new home construction and design in the Portland metro area. Oren Painting has been selected to paint homes on this prestigious showcase — an honor earned entirely through the quality of our work.

How we operate

The standards we hold
every project to.

01
Preparation before paint
We spend more time on prep than most companies spend on the entire job. Caulking, scraping, sanding, priming — these aren't optional steps. They're where quality begins.
02
Honest, upfront pricing
Every proposal is detailed, reviewed personally by Ran and Shachar, and fixed. The price you're quoted is the price you pay. We've never charged a hidden fee in 30 years and we don't intend to start.
03
Clear communication
We understand the trust it takes to invite a crew into your home or building. We keep you informed at every stage, show up when we say we will, and leave every site clean every day.
04
Family accountability
When the family name is on every job, the standard is personal. Ran and Shachar both review proposals, check in on projects, and stand behind the 2-year labor warranty included as standard.
05
Environmental responsibility
We use low-VOC, eco-friendly products and stay current with sustainable coatings technology. Protecting the Oregon environment isn't just policy — it's personal.
06
Licensed & fully insured
Oregon CCB #165361 and WA #ORENPPL95INQ. Fully bonded and insured in both states. All documentation available on request — no surprises for you or your property.
Community & giving back

We never forget
where we came from.

For the Shriki family, giving back isn't a business strategy — it's how they were raised. Since the earliest days of Oren Painting, Ran has donated company resources, crew time, and materials to projects throughout the Portland area, including work for local schools, families in need, and places of worship.

That spirit is something Shachar grew up with — and it's one of the reasons the transition from one generation to the next feels natural. The work ethic, the community commitment, the belief that a successful business owes something to the neighborhoods it serves — these aren't policies. They're family values.

When you hire Oren Painting, you're supporting a company that genuinely invests in the places and people that make the Pacific Northwest worth living in. That's something this family has always been proud of — and something that will never change.

Common questions

About Oren Painting —
Common Questions

What clients want to know about the Shriki family, our history, and how we work. For project-specific questions, get in touch.

Is Ran Shriki still involved in day-to-day operations?
Absolutely. Ran personally reviews every proposal and checks in on every active project. He works alongside his sons Shachar and Oren, who manages estimates and meets with clients directly. This level of family involvement is rare in the industry and is one of the core reasons our clients return year after year.
What does it mean that Oren Painting is family-owned?
It means the people running the business are the people whose name is on the truck. Ran founded the company in 1992, and his sons Shachar and Oren now work alongside him — Shachar managing operations and client relationships, and Oren handling supplies and floor coating systems and client relationships. When you call Oren Painting, you’re dealing with the family directly — not a franchise, not a call center.
Has Oren Painting work been published or featured anywhere?
Yes. Oren Painting has been selected to paint homes featured in Portland’s Street of Dreams — the Pacific Northwest’s premier annual showcase of residential craftsmanship. Our work has also appeared in regional home and design publications.
How large is your crew?
We have crews that handle both residential and commercial projects. For residential jobs we work in smaller, careful teams. For large commercial projects, apartment complexes, and new construction we can deploy full-scale crews as needed.
Do you do charity or community work?
Yes. The Shriki family has donated company resources, materials, and crew time to charitable projects in the Portland area since the early days of the business — including schools, families in need, and places of worship. It’s a core part of who we are.
What is your service area?
We serve the Portland metro area (Tigard, Beaverton, Lake Oswego, Clackamas, Hillsboro), Vancouver WA, and Bend/Central Oregon. For projects outside these areas, contact us to discuss availability.
How do you handle project communication?
Directly. Ran and Shachar are your points of contact from estimate through completion. We provide clear timelines, daily progress updates on larger projects, and are reachable by phone, text, or email throughout. You’ll never be left wondering what’s happening on your project.
What sets your pricing apart from competitors?
Every proposal is fixed-price and detailed. We break down the scope so you understand exactly what’s included. The price quoted is the price you pay — no change orders, no hidden fees. We’ve operated this way for 30 years and it’s why property managers and homeowners trust us.
Can you provide references?
Yes — happily. We can connect you with residential homeowners, property managers, and commercial clients who have worked with us. Many of our clients are repeat customers who’ve been with us for 10, 15, even 20+ years. Just ask during your estimate.
What kind of warranty do you offer?
Every project includes a 2-year labor warranty as standard. If anything isn’t right within two years, we return and fix it at no cost. We also use premium coatings backed by manufacturer material warranties.
